We enjoyed our stay very much. The villa exceeded our expectations, everything went perfect. A minor issue with the alarm system and language barrier with the owner, but we got through that easily. Other than that all went well. Map directions were sufficient and check in and out procedures much easier than anticipated. The sunrise views over the valley and mountains were spectacularly different each day. Everyone enjoyed the pool, outdoor shower, bbq, and other amenities. The owners of the property did a superb job on landscape and maintenance. We were all impressed with the décor and kitchen appliances and service utensils. The only problem we encountered was deciding to go on day trips or stay at the villa-both exceeded our expectations.

Al Mennucci was originally an old hayloft that has been converted into a delightful cottage. It is on a superb location surrounded by olive groves and pine trees, high on the hills, 15 kms to the southeast of Lucca in Pieve di Compito.

The interior of this house is equipped with all modern facilities. The swimming pool is perfectly situated on one side of the house to enjoy the beautiful views. Close to the pool area are the stone-built barbecue and pizza oven, an outdoor shower and an alfresco dining area. There is also a small guesthouse with a double bedroom and bathroom 20 meters from the house, near the driveway.

The secluded location with its own private road ensures peace and tranquility for the guests of Al Mennucci. This road lasts for 1 km and it is unsealed, therefore not suitable for low sports cars.

• Please note that heating in Italy, when not subject to restrictions by the local Government, is more expensive compared to other countries
• Water shortages do occur; please use it sparingly during the summer months
• Italy is probably one of the few countries in the world where the government has introduced a system of electricity limitators to contain the national consumption. This means you must be careful when using more than one appliance at once because the limitator will shut the electricity off
